Early morning thundery showers moved through the northern Suburbs of Adelaide this morning. It has been a while since a somewhat decent show occurred, despite being infrequent, the bolts themselves were clean.

December 28 2023:
A decent lightshow to end the year as clean high based storms moved across the outer northern suburbs of Adelaide during the afternoon before another few rounds at night. A long overdue light show.

Dec 17 2023; Guster moving westwards towards Darwin Harbour before moving over the Cox Peninsula & throwing some backenders.

Severe thunderstorms rapidly formed west of Geelong, Victoria on the evening of March 13th 2022. One core which I was lucky to be under produced an impressive amount of hail with many stones averaging 1 to 1.5cm with some larger ones thrown in with the biggest at 2.5cm. This same band of storms continued moving East to produce a decent light show in the bay.

For those who don't live in Adelaide SA, we very rarely will see anything on this scale. A very dangerous thunderstorm warned by the Bureau of Meteorology for giant hailstones (5cm or greater) to impact the northern suburbs of Adelaide. Hail varying from 3.5-4.5cm rained down at Uleybury just after 12PM Oct 28th 2021. The roar of the hail is one sound I will never forget.
Cars in the street were dented, panels on our pergola and greenhouse damaged and fruit trees stripped.

A nice early wake up call around 2AM this morning in Uleybury, South Australia as a mid level disturbance associated with a Low Level Jet allowed for some rapid high based thunderstorms to form over the metro area. Some of the smallest cores were producing quality bolts whereas some mature cores did not.
