One of the most important aspects of bird photography is being able to identify bird calls, for example I heard this little Azure Kingfisher flying around the Inlet the other day and not a single person realised it was there because it's so small and quick.

But as soon as you hear it's distinctive call its just a matter of time until you spot a little blue streak flying through the sky.

The Azure Kingfisher, when I first started doing wildlife photography I made a list of all the animals I want to take photos of and kingfishers was up the top of that list!

Luckily the other week while I was on kayaking I spotted a small blue flash fly past me and turns out it was this little cutie!
