There is something incredibly tender about this stage of motherhood.
Not quite newborn chaos. Not quite the old normal either. Just this soft, golden in-between.

A little girl resting her head on her mum’s shoulder, already protective.
A dad kissing a belly that holds someone he hasn’t met but already loves fiercely.
Hands layered over a bump that has quietly become the centre of their world.

Maternity sessions aren’t just about documenting a growing belly.
They’re about capturing the way a family wraps themselves around what’s coming next.

The anticipation.
The pride.
The quiet moments between laughter.

This baby is already so deeply loved, and that’s the story I’ll always chase.

Two years ago, I stood in a hospital room and watched this family hold their daughter, Lacie.

I watched them memorise her.
I watched love and heartbreak exist in the same breath.

When they asked me to photograph this season of waiting, it felt sacred.

Hands on a growing belly.
Sunflowers woven gently in.
Hope that was careful, but brave.

These weren’t just maternity photos.
They were proof that love can survive the unthinkable.

Now Indie is here.

And nothing about her arrival erases her sister.
It carries her forward.

Indie is because Lacie was. 🕊️

These are the frames that matter.

Not the big scenic one with the hills behind you.
Not the perfectly posed, everyone-looking shot.

This.

The forehead resting against hers like everything else can wait.
Her hand on his chest, ring catching the sun.
The way he softens when she’s close.
The tiny crease beside his nose.
The quiet breath between them.

Close ups are where the real story sits.

They hold the things you don’t even realise you’ll miss one day.
Freckles.
Dimples.
The way your fingers curl into cotton.
The way you look at each other when no one’s watching.

Wide shots show where you were.
Close ups show who you were together.

Years from now it won’t be the paddock you feel.
It’ll be this.
Forehead to forehead.

Hand to heart.
Sunlight on skin.

This is real love.
Not the tidy, look-at-me kind. The comfortable kind.

The kind where you’re laughing mid-kiss, hands just end up where they belong, and no one’s asking what to do next. He’s solid. She’s all warmth and spark. They meet in the middle and it just… works.

Nothing here was forced. No posing, no overthinking. Just two people who actually like each other, who feel safe enough to muck around, be held, be loud, be soft.

This is why I shoot the way I do.
Because these are the moments that matter.
The in-between ones. The ones you don’t plan but end up meaning the most.

This is them. And it’s bloody good.

🤍 Client Gallery Reminder

As I prepare my systems for 2026, I’ll be removing older galleries to make room for upcoming sessions.

If your session was photographed in 2025, please take a moment to ensure your full gallery has been downloaded and safely backed up.

Once these older galleries are removed, they won’t be accessible or recoverable, so I strongly recommend saving your images to a personal device and/or cloud storage.

This clean-up is part of maintaining a smooth, reliable experience for current and future clients, and I truly appreciate your understanding.

Thank you for trusting me to capture these moments for you. Your memories are yours to keep forever 🤍

Some sessions stay with you.
Not because of the light or the location, but because of the way two people love each other when no one’s asking them to perform.

This one felt gentle and real from the very beginning.
Easy laughter, quiet closeness, and that kind of connection you don’t need to direct.

I’m always honoured when couples trust me with moments like this.
You two were magic, and it was a beautiful thing to witness. 🤍✨

This family session wasn’t about standing still or looking at the camera.
It was about playing. Moving. Laughing. Letting little hands lead the way.

Mum holding the safe place.
Dad throwing her into the sky, again and again, just to hear that laugh.
Because that’s where the real stuff lives.

I’ll choose play over posing every time.
The running, the lifting, the chaos, the in-between moments that don’t need direction.
That’s connection. That’s trust. That’s childhood.

When parents play with their kids, the walls come down.
When dads get involved, get silly, get down on their level… you can feel it.
Not staged. Not forced. Just real.

This is what I want families to remember.
Not how they looked, but how it felt.

One year ago, everything shifted.
Two tiny souls arrived and quietly rearranged your world.

You learned them in the in-between hours.
In the dark.
In the calm after the chaos.
You carried the weight together — the tiredness, the doubt, the love that kept growing anyway.

You became home before they even knew what that meant.
Safe arms. Steady hands.
The place they always come back to.

This year asked more of you than you ever imagined.
And still, you showed up.
Over and over.
With softness.
With strength.
With a love that doesn’t need words.

They won’t remember the long nights or the way time slipped through your fingers.
But they will grow up knowing how love feels —
because it’s been wrapped around them since the very beginning.

Happy first birthday to your beautiful babies.
This year changed you.
And you’ll carry it with you forever.

Captured on the very first day of 2026.

A brand-new year, holding a brand-new soul.
Tiny fingers still learning the world, already wrapped in a love so deep it feels older than time itself.

There’s something sacred about January 1st —
a quiet promise, a fresh beginning, a pause where everything feels possible.
And here he is, right at the start of it all, held by the people who will be his safe place forever.

This is the season where days blur and nights are long,
where time somehow moves too fast and too slow all at once.
These moments — the way he fits perfectly into their arms, the way his siblings already claim him, the way love expands without warning —
this is the stuff that becomes family history.

Welcome to the world, Fletcher.
You are already so deeply loved. ✨

There’s a little secret I’ve been holding close… 🤍

This year brings a new chapter for our family, and with it, a pause — a gentle one.
From the start of April, I’ll be stepping away for maternity leave, trading camera straps for newborn cuddles and soaking up a season that passes far too quickly.

Rustic Focus was built in the in-between moments — motherhood, messy days, deep love, fleeting seasons — and this one feels especially full circle.

To my incredible clients: thank you for trusting me with your stories, your milestones, your memories. Your support allows me to step into this chapter with a full heart and deep gratitude.

Existing bookings will be honoured, availability will be limited leading into April, and I’ll still be quietly behind the scenes — just a little slower, a little softer.

Thank you for being here, for growing with me, and for allowing me the space to grow our family too 🤍

With love,
Brooke

Some moments don’t ask to be posed.
They just happen — messy, loud, tender, real.

Little hands reaching.
Big arms holding steady.
Laughter spilling out where love lives loudest.

This is what together looks like.
Not perfect. Not polished.
Just honest connection, layered with trust, time, and the kind of love that grows when people choose each other every day.

A blended family, woven together in the in-between moments — the giggles, the glances, the safety of being held exactly as you are.

These are the memories that linger long after the sun dips low.
The ones you don’t recreate — you simply feel them again.

There is so much happening here that no one else can see.

The quiet weight of anticipation.
The mix of excitement and fear that sits deep in the chest.
The knowing that life is about to change — forever — and the tenderness that comes with standing right on that edge.

This season isn’t loud.
It isn’t rushed.
It’s carried in pauses.
In deep breaths.
In hands that rest protectively, instinctively, without thinking.

You can feel the love in the way they lean toward each other.
Not for the camera — but because this is where they feel safest.
Because this is home.

This little life is already surrounded by devotion.
By a love that has lived and learned.
By two people who understand that growth asks something of you — and still choose it.

These moments matter.
The before.
The waiting.
The becoming.

Because one day this chapter will feel like a blur —
and this is proof that once, everything slowed…
and love filled the space completely.
