📍 South Aus 🇦🇺 We are Kaitlyn and Gordon - two adventurers from Queensland, Australia. The ‘Kadon Experience’ is a mashup of not only our names, but our collective experiences and trips that we have done or are planning to do. We camp, we overland, we bike, hike and generally find ourselves in outdoorsy situations. From idea to ex*****on, we’ll share the experience.

This is three days bikepacking and credit card camping through the New England High Country

270 kilometres across some of Australia’s most bike packable routes.

Day 1 - 120km’s Armidale to Bendemeer
Day 2 - 63km’s Bendemeer to Walcha
Day 3 - 86km’s Walcha to Armidale.

It was tough, but we loved every bit of it. Exploring somewhere new by bike, backing ourselves to make it to the destination, and that feeling when you’ve done the hard thing. We’re already planning the next one.

The Breadknife & Grand High Tops, Warrumbungle NP

A 20km loop hiking, Gould’s Circuit up to Macha Tor, past the Breadknife, up to the breathtaking Grand High Tops summit, and finishing at the top Bluff Mountain. 360° views over the Warrumbungles. Epic rugged volcanic landscapes, one of the best day hikes we’ve done in Australia.

Walking into total darkness to chase the stars 🌌

In 2016 Warrumbungle National Park became Australia’s first (and still only) International Dark Sky Park, meaning strict lighting rules are enforced for miles around to keep light pollution out and the night sky pristine.

That’s what made this one of the best spots we’ve ever shot astro. We walked out to Wambelong Loop, away from any lights in the campground. If you’re chasing the Milky Way in Australia, this is the place.

We’re pretty new to astrophotography, please let us know in the comments below if anyone has any tips.
