It was such a joy to photograph Miss Quinn in her home with her parents. Babies really do grow so fast, so it’s nice to freeze time and remember them at this precious little age.

Mount Isa Mines have featured the newlook Mount Isa Rodeo logo (designed by Studio Rural) on the Urquhart Shaft and I’ve got to say it looks ICONIC!

👀 Have you spotted something new on the Mount Isa skyline? This year, we’ve added a tribute to the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo on one of our most recognisable landmarks, the Urquhart Shaft.

Since the very first rodeo in 1959, Mount Isa Mines has proudly stood alongside this event - helping to build and sustain what has grown into one of the largest and most iconic rodeos in the southern hemisphere.

As we count down to 7-9 August, we’re looking forward to another outstanding event and continuing a legacy partnership that remains deeply connected to the people and spirit of Mount Isa. 🤠

It’s been one whole year since our visit to the magnificent Louvre. I wish to be taken back and left inside a few weeks so I can fully indulge in all the art. I’ll pack my own snacks.

Helping tell the story of Ossian. has been a privilege. I’ve loved watching the brand evolve through my lens, capturing its growth season after season. Though the imagery has changed from bright and airy to quiet and moody... the heart of the brand has remained the same: a space for stillness. Every photograph reflects that enduring sense of calm, regardless of the season or style.

There are a million talented photographers out there.

So how do you choose?

Look beyond beautiful images.

Look for the feeling their work leaves behind.

The stories they notice.
The moments they choose to capture.
The way they see people.

A client recently told me my images create a certain atmosphere and sentiment. I took that as one of the nicest compliments I've received.

Not because I've perfected that skill, but because it's something I'm constantly striving to develop.

Because long after you've forgotten the camera, the location, or even the day itself, it's often the mood in a photograph that stays with you.

One of the first questions I ask before designing a logo has nothing to do with colours, fonts, or styles.

It's this:

Who are you trying to attract?

Not a demographic.
Not an age bracket.
Not "women aged 30–40."

A real person.

What keeps them up at night?
What do they value?
What are they struggling with?
What are they hoping for?

Because when you understand the person behind the purchase, you can build a brand that speaks directly to them.

Today I was so chuffed to learn that my series: Stages of Life was selected as a finalist in the Black & White category of the Australasia’s Top Emerging Photographers Awards.

The series explores different stages of life through portraits made in the same wool shed, on the same chair.

Words from my entry:

In the afternoon light of the wool shed, they pause… One has a lifetime of work etched into his hands and face. One is still finding her feet, taking it all in. One only just made it up on the chair.

Thank you to Capture magazine and the judges I am so, so grateful for the recognition.
