Well… it’s been two weeks since I started the GoFundMe to try and get the Party Bus back on the road, and honestly, I’m struggling to put into words just how blown away I am by the support I’ve received.

There have been some absolute deadset legends who have chipped in, shared the fundraiser, sent messages, offered help, or simply checked in to see how things are going. And I genuinely mean it when I say thank you. ❤️

We’re now sitting at around $4,000, which is bloody huge. That puts me roughly halfway towards getting the motor side of things covered, and then there’s still all the other bits and pieces that come with swapping a motor and getting the old girl back up and running.

I’ve also had a few people donate privately, which has made a massive difference. Every single dollar has helped, and knowing that people are willing to put their own hard-earned money towards getting me and the Party Bus back out there honestly means more than I can explain.

For those who know me, you’ll know the Party Bus isn’t just a car.

It’s my way of getting out there. It’s my media vehicle, my recovery vehicle, my camping home, my way of getting to races and events, chasing photos and stories, helping where I can and just being part of the offroad community that I love so much.

Having it sitting there broken has been bloody hard, especially knowing how much I rely on it to do what I do.

Thankfully, Croppy and Mel from Ultra4 Australia have been absolute legends and have loaned me their blue Colorado to keep me mobile. I honestly can’t thank them enough for that either. It’s meant I can still get around and keep doing what I love while we work on getting the Party Bus sorted.

But… I’m not going to lie…

I bloody miss my car. 😂❤️

I also want to give a massive, massive thank you to Multitech Shotblasting Australia. They threw down a huge chunk towards getting me back out there, and that sort of support genuinely hits differently. To have a business step up like that and help me get back on the road… I’m bloody grateful.

And another huge thank you to TJM 4x4 Equipped, who are throwing an onboard air system my way so I can get back out there and air up those awesome Predator Tyres once the Party Bus is back in action.

The support from businesses, friends, competitors, sponsors and complete strangers has honestly reminded me why I love this community so much.

I started this fundraiser not knowing whether anyone would even care enough to help.

Two weeks later, we’re sitting around $4,000.

That’s pretty bloody special.

There’s still a fair way to go, and I’m still plugging away trying to get the rest together, but for the first time since the Party Bus blew its motor, I’m starting to feel like we might actually get her back.

Starting to get a wee bit bloody excited about this trip!

Huge thanks to Boss Croppy and Boss Lady Mel from Ultra4 Australia for sorting me out with a spot in the live animal hold and sending this hairy bastard across the ditch to Aotearoa. 📦✈️🤣

When I was younger, I never thought I’d even get on a plane. Now, in me 40-odd years, I’ve somehow managed to go overseas twice for King of the Hammers, fly with Qantas, American Airlines, United and Delta…

…and now they reckon I’m ready for Ultra4 New Zealand. 😂

I’ll be arriving with me passport, me camera gear and absolutely no bloody idea what anyone is saying once Croppy starts talking.

Honestly… I don’t really know how to put into words how I’m feeling right now.

When I put the GoFundMe up, I had no idea what to expect. Asking for help isn’t something I’m particularly good at, and I definitely didn’t expect the amount of support, messages and generosity that has come my way already.

People I know, people I haven’t spoken to in years, and even complete strangers have reached out wanting to help get the Party Bus back on the road.

And yeah… this big hairy ape has gotten a little emotional about it.

To some people, it might just be an old Patrol with a cooked motor. But to me, the Party Bus is so much more than that. It gets me to the race tracks, out into the bush, behind the camera and amongst the people and community I love. Losing it, even temporarily, has been bloody hard.

So to everyone who has donated, shared the GoFundMe, sent me a message, offered parts, labour or support… thank you. Seriously. You have no idea how much it means to me.

A few people have also raised concerns about the fees GoFundMe takes. Yep, I know they're there, and I completely understand if you’d prefer to help another way.

The Party Bus needs a new heart… and as much as I hate asking for help, I’ve swallowed my pride and started a GoFundMe to try and get the big old Patrol back on the road.

For those who don’t know, the old ZD30 has finally cooked itself, and without the Party Bus, getting around to the offroad events, taking photos and doing what I do with Bigfoot Media becomes a whole lot harder.
