When Danni messaged me to book family photos, she only had ONE request:
“I really want to update our family photos, but I want it more “us” - not just neutrals in a paddock looking pretty” 👌🏻

DONE!! I was bursting with ideas and genuinely so excited to make this session unique, while also being true to their style and personalities.

Fun facts:
- Danni and I went to school together and she has absolutely not aged - at all! The good old days when no one had social media and we basically got away with everything haha
- the last time I photographed these guys, Harlie was a newborn 🥰
- Danni & Lummo were blessed with twins second - and were brave enough to have a 4th baby (Harlie!!) Anyone with twins knows this is solid!
- these legends are as beautiful on the inside, as they are on the outside!
- I took my 360 camera and forgot to press record 😭 I’m soooooo upset with myself 😭

Part 2: of the most horrifying interactions I’ve ever had with a client 🤭
AKA
The flip side 🤩

Comment below if you want to know the absolute WORST one liner, I’ve ever impulsively run with 😬 (on 3 seperate occasions - none of which landed well)

Part 1: of the most horrifying interactions I’ve ever had with a client…

I seem to learn things the hard way - constantly 🤭

Follow for part 2!

The “don’t assume and ALWAYS seek permission” rule came about after I asked a family member (who I thought was an uncle) to say the word “boobs” to make him smile (he was very serious and this will usually loosen most people up) - he politely said he couldn’t say it because he is a priest - I laughed it off, thinking he was winding me up - he was not. And I persisted MULTIPLE times, still thinking it was banter - it was not banter. He was a priest and I’ve never been so mortified in my life! I learned a good lesson that day, 9ish years ago 😬 (forever learning things the hard way!)

Thankfully, now I read a room much better 😅 (still working on the, think before you speak).

BUT even when my brain is screaming green light - I ALWAYS ask parents permission before going rouge 🤭

Anyone else have any horror stories they want to share with the group?

Thank you for trusting me 🤩🤩🤩 I can’t wait to meet your little bundle of love!

Ps I think I’ve hit double digits, in the tally of amazing photographers I’ve photographed over the years.

If you have been lucky enough (I’m the lucky one) to be a “notch on my belt”, please comment below!! I need to do a formal list!!!!

The Prime vs Zoom lens debate always seems to ruffle some feathers… “most” photographers are passionately one sided - myself included at times 🤭

When I started my business ten years ago, I bought a 24-70 f2.8 & 70-200 f2.8 - on paper I am set for any scenario right?…. WRONG! The creative in me hated the f2.8 so I sold my 70-200 while my 24-70 sat in my camera bag for years barely being used. Still to this day, I only use my 24-70 if I absolutely have to - and there isn’t enough room with a prime lens.

So why all of a sudden, do I massively regret selling my 70-200 and want to buy a new one?! And WHY am I dying to get the RF 28-70 f2.0 lens (kinda the same - but the f.2.0 makes this a beast of a lens 😅)

A new lens is a huge investment, so it doesn’t happen often. So help a gal out and give me your pros and cons!

Current canon lenses:
35 EF
50 RF
85 RF
135 EF
24-70 EF
90mm macro tamron

Part 2 - My biggest pet-peeve at a wedding!

What’s the strangest thing you have seen a groom/groomsmen carry in their pockets at a wedding?

“You weren’t even thought of… let alone born yet!!!” - I can hear it already 🤭

Since this beautiful day, Gracie has gone from one sibling… to THREE siblings (solid effort Mum & Dad 😅)

Anyone with multiple kids already knows exactly where this is headed 👀🤭

While this is such a special moment for a Mum and daughter to share - one that will be treasured forever and proudly displayed throughout the family home…

What Gracie & Harry don’t realise yet is that this wedding day will one day spark the ultimate sibling alliance:

The two kids who were invited to Mum & Dad’s wedding
VS
The two kids who were “not even invited” 😂🤭

Cue…

“You weren’t even thought of… let alone born yet!!!”

God speed 💀

If you can see it my pockets, then my camera can DEFINITELY see it in your pockets!! And it looks bulky, weird and burns my soul!

So, to all the grooms and groomsmen out there that I have tortured, annoyed and asked repeatedly for 10hrs - “please empty your pockets” - you’re welcome 😅 and I’m not sorry!

To all my Brides & bridesmaids - it’s never you - (mainly because your dresses never have pockets) and I love that!
