They shall not grow old, as we that are left grown old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.

Next week marks the 100th anniversary of the Turkish campaign in Canakkale, when two British warships were destroyed trying to secure the Dardanelle's straight. Leading to the famous, yet sorrowful events that occurred on the Gallipoli Peninsula just 38 days later, forming the legend and legacy of the ANZACs.

This week I was fortunate enough to look across those powerful waters, that have been the scene of conflict for millennia. Such beauty can be found in the places these young men lay, but such horrors must have lead them there.

As we approach this anniversary, I hope that we can learn from what was occurred, so we may never let it happen again. Yet, in a land of raging conflicts, sadly only a hope it will remain.

Lest we forget.
