What a special night celebrating alongside so many incredible creatives in the wedding industry.

I’m truly honoured to have received Highly Commended (2nd Place) in the Photography category for the Western Sydney & Blue Mountains region. To even be mentioned alongside such talented photographers is something I don’t take lightly.

A huge congratulations to the other photographers in this category, the level of talent, creativity, and passion in this space is genuinely inspiring. It’s a privilege to be part of an industry where we continually push each other to be better and deliver unforgettable experiences for our couples.

To all of my amazing couples, thank you. Your trust in me to capture one of the most important days of your lives means everything. The moments we create together, the stories we tell, and the memories we preserve… that’s what it’s all about.

And a big thank you to the Wedding Industry Awards team for continuing to support and celebrate wedding professionals across Australia.

A couple of weeks ago, I photographed a wedding in the stunning Megalong Valley during a rain event unlike anything they’d seen in years. It poured nonstop from the moment I arrived until the second I left. Add in the 1000% humidity, and it was definitely one for the books!

I can only imagine how the thought of rain on your wedding day might feel from a bride’s perspective—bringing worry and even anxiety. While it’s not what anyone hopes for, take a moment to step back and focus on the real reason you’re getting married. That’s what truly matters, rain or shine.

The essentials of a truly memorable wedding—your closest humans, mouthwatering food, refreshing drinks, and incredible music—stay constant, no matter the weather. Rain doesn’t diminish any of these. Your celebration will still be extraordinary; it might just move from the open air to a cozy indoor space.

But what about the photos? Glad you asked, truthfully, rain doesn’t change a thing - if I am there with you. I’ll be there to document your day as it happens, rain included. Unexpected weather often brings a unique charm. It’s all part of the story and nothing to stress about. Plus, overcast skies provide the most beautiful, soft light, making every photo even more magical than on a bright, sunny day.
