I decided last week to step back from photography because life is too busy – motherhood, living an hour out of town, working on the Station, an upcoming podcast project – there just isn’t time to do it all.

Within 24 hours of making that decision I had two inquiries and I accepted bookings from both of them … so I am putting this up here to keep myself accountable. 

I’ve got about half a dozen existing bookings to complete and then it’s tools down until the kids are a bit older. Although knowing me, I will probably sneak in the odd job here and there.

With recent diesel prices throwing everyone’s plans into disarray, those who rely on motor cars and motorbikes have had to consider going back to the OG method of cattle mustering - horses. But horses are stupid expensive these days, so instead of getting a Landcruiser equivalent, some may end up with the hatchback of horses…

So, I hereby propose these new taglines for this Contract Mustering business:

“PLB - we’ll go the extra mile, even if it takes us twice as long”

“PLB - when diesel prices go to poo, we’ve got a back up plan - or at least half of one”.

What happens at the photoshoot, stays at the photoshoot. So we wont talk about the fact that I got my car so stuck I had to call in someone to pull me out... but, as they say, "you've got to make hay while the sun shines", so while waiting for our "knight in a 4WD with a tow strap" we created some amazing photos documenting this family's time in the Territory. It's a photoshoot neither the photographer nor client will ever forget, that's for sure! 🫣

Since having bub #2 I think I’ve used my camera maybe 5 times… 🤷‍♀️

Now that I have a few short term Au Pairs lined up for the next 2-3 months I am hoping to put my gear to use, especially my studio lighting.

For now, here is bub #1 all grown up and channeling her inner cowgirl 😍
