Final hunt of the rut produced. Spotted a dark dot in the paddock that didn't quite look like a cow. I knew a lone hind out feeding wouldn't actually be alone. After closing a bit of distance I saw this stag bedded up behind her keeping watch.
Still too far for the range finder to even pick up distance I had to hammer down to about 100m. Although the stag i saw when I created the ridge wasn't quite right. Couldn't see any hinds either. After about 10 minutes of waiting, a low moan brought him back out of cover and he folded on the spot. How good is rut hunting.

What an epic hunt with

4500m elevation is no joke, every 5 steps i needed a rest. Some very cold days and long treks on the horses to finally locate some big billies.
Very happy with this ibex, delicious meat and an experience I'll never forget.

Great few days away with stocking quite a few freezers. Good start when you get a driveway deer and roll into camp with one hanging already.

Casties, a big black cat, long range practice and insane stars every night were some extra Easter eggs on top.
