OK. So I been sitting at my laptop and looking at some more Darwin photos (screensavers) and got just a few to put up here. The Darwin Supercars round from Hidden Valley Raceway always throws up some eclectic sights. We have been fortunate to have had lots of different support categories share the racetrack and the dragstip with NDRC - National Drag Racing Championship. YEP, I'm a petrol-head and have enjoyed them ALL, as well as the occasional wildlife, fire and aircraft.

Here are a few dating back to 2011 with John Bowe up to last years event.

With Darwin Supercars as our next stop, one of the (other) great things about heading up north to the N.T. warmth and Supercars is the guaranteed magnificent sunrises and sunsets!

It takes a LOT to convince a team, and even more salesmanship to convince a driver to get up early for a sunrise shot at Hidden Valley Raceway, but once they get there and see what that time of the morning looks like, its mega! And the teams and drivers agree that getting to the track for just one day at 6am to get set up is worth it. The silence, then the glow at the end of the main straight, followed by the cresting of the sun over the horizon is special. A sunrise is always guaranteed but not always a great one but hey, that's outa my control ;-)

Here are a few photos from both ends of the day - of sunsets at Mindil Beach and Cullen Bay and sunrises at the Hidden Valley track; from as far back as 2004 thru to 2025.

Photography is subjective! After a full day today going through my 4 days of effort to produce approx 29,000+ photos from the Round 5 Supercars Tyrepower Tasmania Super 440, Symmons Plains Raceway; I narrowed my "Top" photos (based on effort, emotion, style and WOW factor) down to 160 to chose from for here and Insta. Unfortunately, 160 is too many for here so I thought, cut it down to 10. So, here are my top 10 - Let me know your thoughts.

Supercars Round 5 Tyrepower Tasmania Super 440 at Symmons Plains Raceway - lots of action and a big crowd watched 3 Supercar races, along with V8 SuperUtes, Touring Car Masters, Tassie Tin Tops and Aussie Racers.
Here are just a few photos for you to enjoy.

With a week to go to FINALLY get back trackside - I been a bit nostalgic & looking at some of my photos from Symmons Plains Raceway. I like all of the permanent smaller tracks around our country and Symmons Plains Raceway is one of my faves! Hope you enjoy a few from the Brockie 2004 photo to last years event.

Round 4 ITM Christchurch Super 440 was held for the 1st time at the Euromarque Motorsport Park - Ruapuna in front of a packed, enthusiastic and parochial New Zealand crowd who had come from all over the country (and OZ) to watch the races, along with some amazing NZ Historic Touring Cars and Formula Ford and GTNZ supports.

Christchurch turned it on with plenty of side-by-side racing, controversy, new winners and the JR Trophy.

Here are a few photos from the event for you to enjoy.

OK, so, I'm still here in Taupo, being a tourist. Today, I chugged around Lake Taupo to check out the Horopito Motor Wreckers - Smash Palace, on recommendations from my good friend Ben from and WOW, the place was MEGA! So many different cars, parts, rust and just stuff to check out. For a 10 dollar donation I got to wander around and look at all this cool stuff.
Enjoy

Round 3 ITM Taupo Super440 had everything! Clashes, great racing, rivalries, new Kiwi inspired liveries, weddings, you name it!
A great crowd turned up on Saturday to a condensed and revised race schedule as the call was made to cancel Sunday, due to an impending cyclone! Unpredictability of the weather is a Victorian given and so, the safe decision to cancel Sunday was made.
Sitting here today in my accommodation is different for a Sunday of a race weekend - looking out the window, we didn't get the anticipated cyclonic type winds or rain, but it's been a soggy and dreary day. Got the trackie dacks and thick socks on, sorting the weekends photos and liking the shots from Taupo. I hope you like them as well - enjoy.
