I haven’t had my camera out for the longest time. There’s always something ‘more important’ to do. The longer I went without taking photos, the more of a hassle it felt to go grab it and take the odd picture.
So many moments of, “Man that would make a great photo! But…”
So when my daughter very excitedly, came running in from the back yard, beaming with joy saying, “Dad! Dad! There’s a King Parrot in the tree down the back!” Something triggered in me. I stopped whatever mundane chore I was doing, raced off to grab my camera, and then quickly followed my daughter down the back!
Well it wasn’t a King Parrot, it was the Rainbow Lorikeet in the first photo, but it was a bit of a poser and seemed to enjoy having its photo taken. The bug bit again so I got my camera out a few more times over the following days.
Kids are great like that. Their ability to pull you out of whatever rut you’ve placed yourself in, and place you right in the moment is wonderful. My daughter is especially good at it 🥰
These are a few of my better captures. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did taking them 😊
