More photos from Operation Paratus conducted last week.

In my former life as a Paramedic I attended a number of mass casualty events and mass casualty exercises during my career. Obviously there wasn’t an opportunity to grab a camera given the circumstances but I did want to show people what these situations look (and hopefully) feel like when you’re right in amongst it rather than from the barriers.

Congratulations to NSW Ambulance NSW Police Force Fire and Rescue NSW NSW SES St John Ambulance NSW Rural Fire Service at the former Royal School of Artillery at North Head NSW for putting on a great day.

Creating “Striking images” is what I love doing - the opportunity to be creative for clients is one of the things I love most about my work.

Anna is a LinkedIn guru / coach and a genuinely lovely human being to boot. She runs webinars and training for business people who want to capitalise on the benefits of a strong social media presence in the business world. When we discussed her upcoming plans my mind headed down the path of showing her potential clients that she can in effect help “jump start” peoples profiles.

I had the opportunity to do some work for the Coffs Harbour Regional Conservatorium and the WPAS - Woolgoolga Performing Arts Studio production of Frozen.
The quality of the show is fantastic, the performers were brilliant and the audience really enjoyed the show - highly recommended, TV is great but being able to sit so close to a live performance is a huge step up.

I don't normally do a lot of black and white photography for clients because I believe that most back and white work is suitable as a background image rather than a key image.

In this case I think black and white suits the genre and feel that the client wanted and I got to indulge a little in my (personal) favourite style of photography.

I’ve been really busy for the last few months and have not really been able to post. Here is some work from a recent branding session for Sarah from SJA Consultants , she is a consultant in outsourced sales and business development - specialising in the hospitality sector.

Sarah is smart, funny and has this genuine warmth and I really wanted to show that to her market so we sat down and "storyboarded" image styles that would tell who she is and what she does to her target market.

The smiles might give it away but the shoot was fun and easy going - a huge thanks to Tania Hastings (who is a gun hair and makeup professional) for help.

"The subtle art of smiling staff"

Staff do not like staff photos, most would rather work through their lunch, stay back late or do anything to get out of it.

Staff photos are really important because they give potential clients a feel for the "vibe" at your place of business.

There's a secret to getting photos of staff genuinely smiling - it is something I have learned over a decade as a professional photographer.
