I don't know where to start... Wait a sec, look at the colours then the rain legend and if your town is not on the map just guess haha. How depressing, I'm in the white to light blue along with many others...BUT there are some important and incredible weather things to highlight so lets get into it!
The tropical low is parked up now in the Simpson desert for the next 3 days which will bring heavy rain and flooding in the pink circled area. Locations at risk we VERY RARELY get to say these names in the same paragraph so Alice Springs, Akarnenehe, Jervois, Simpson desert, Birdsville, Durham Downs, Nappa Merrie, Innamincka, Cameron Corner, Moomba, Strzelecki Desert, Kati Thanda- Lake Eyre, Marree, William Creek, Oodnadatta, Arkaroola, Tibooburra, Broken Hill, Wilcannia, White Cliffs, Wanaaring and Menindee - probably missed a few in the circle that you can add? These areas are now mostly fully prepared already so let it rain and transform the landscape with minimal damage. Some big falls of 100-200mm have already been recorded!
NOTE: Alice Springs, Broken Hill and Menindee you guys are right on the edge of the forecast heavy rain totals ATM so BOM do have you included in the SWW warnings.
Across the Top End of WA, NT & QLD daily wet season rain and storms with locally heavy falls from a very active monsoon trough. Rise and Repeat.
Victoria storms - some severe developing today from the North West to Central districts then moving east into Northern and Eastern districts. We really hope you get the rain you need from this round!
Tomorrow storms are likely along the VIC / NSW border which head into the ACT and South East NSW. Sydney you could get rain on Thursday.
Lastly an ocean surface trough could bring some coastal showers and rain to the Central and South East QLD coasts late Thursday into Friday - more on that later on ok.
There is big rain forecast for most of SA & VIC after Thursday so fingers crossed it happens!
