D.A. Vinci guitars is a guitar custom shop and manufacturer of genuine Bosnian electric guitars and basses. During the past 6-7 years, starting small in a home workshop, we have now developed our manufacturing process to a high standard, and working diligently, working hard and with attention to details, constantly learning and exploring the world of musical instruments, appreciating luthiery as an art form and a skill, D.A. Vinci Guitars has become a way of life for us.
The path of every musician is heavily influenced by the tools he uses in his endless search for his own style that reflects his identity – his soul. Every musician strives to be unique and original and needs the tools at his disposal to help him in this quest. To inspire, to boost his creativity, to be an extension of himself. This is the main driving force behind our creations at D.A. Vinci guitars.
The D.A. Vinci guitars story began in 2013 before its name even existed. In Bihać, BiH, a graphic designer, and videographer by trade, but a musician at heart, I, Dinko Abdic had a need for a telecaster type guitar to implement in my band. Never quite finding the right tone, the right look, the right feel, frustrated, I decided one day to make one myself - And that was the tipping point after which nothing was ever the same. A strong passion was born, out of pure necessity, and grew into an idea of D.A. Vinci guitars, that I strive to accomplish every day.
There is nothing like the feeling of imagining an instrument in your head, putting it on paper, carefully selecting the wood to use to pair it perfectly with the right pickups, the right bridge, endless sanding of every corner and crevice, trying to bring your creation as close to perfection as you are able to. Cradling this will for months until you put the final touches, and in the end, having your creation in your hands, and that beautiful sound the first time you plug it into an amp and doing it over and over again, with every new guitar surprising even yourself.
That feeling never goes away, and it’s that feeling that drives me and everyone at D.A. Vinci guitars to envision and create, to put our soul into a “piece of wood”, because make no mistake – every instrument has a piece of its builder's heart in it.
With every new guitar we build, we try to better ourselves, try something new and offer our players the best possible combination for his/her needs.
Today D.A. Vinci guitars builds custom ordered instruments and our own models in various finishes, shapes, and combinations.
We are a small family-owned business and by ordering our products, you are supporting us in furthering our mission to bring to life amazing pieces of functional art and inspiring the artist withing you to join us in our quest to create, amaze and better the lives around us in the only way we know how – through music. The path of every musician is heavily influenced by the tools he uses in his endless search for his own style that reflects his own identity – his soul.
