There are so many pictures being shared of Sarajevo during its siege, so this year for Sarajevo day I thought I would share a re-edit of a simple picture I took in Stari Grad, Sarajevo in 2018 to show just how far the city has come since then, and that there is way more to Sarajevo and Bosnia as a whole than that horrific, senseless war

Here’s a re-edit from my time in Budapest in 2018: I was just chilling by the Danube and this group of people were trying to cool off in this little pool next to it. It was 38 degrees when I took this! Definitely one of the hottest days I’d ever experienced. They asked me to come in with them but I would have had to go in naked (I didn’t have any swim stuff on me) and I’m a prudish Brit so I couldn’t!

I think Croatia is a really romantic place, maybe even more so than Paris!

I’m happy to have seen it grow since I last visited, joining the Schengen Zone and adopting the Euro. It’s tourism has grown exponentially since I was last there. When I went, we were the only English people we saw and now I regularly help people at work who are going for holidays and city breaks there!

I took this in Paris in 2014. Disclaimer: I know nothing about either of these people, and I don’t think I would just take pictures of people like this now, but looking back at it, it shocks me a bit as it shows just how beautiful places like Paris still struggle with inequality. I’m hoping everybody in the picture is doing well now!
