UIU Photography Club is one of the oldest clubs of United International University. Since its inception in 2005, our club is working incessantly to explore the creative area of photography through numerous workshops, photo-walks and exhibitions. We have successfully built a platform for enthusiast photographers of UIU to explore their interest and skill in this area as a form of art. UIUPC regular

Our workshops range from the basics of photography to advance topics like commercial portrait photography, documentary, photography ethics and many more. In our artist talk sessions, we get to know and share experiences of renowned photographers and about the current world of photography. Regular photo-walks are another integral activity of our club. As we consider our club a family rather than an organization, our main goal is to grow together. By sharing knowledge and resources, we expect our members to flourish with their passion for photography. Dedication to club activities and being hardworking and passionate is all that we ask of our members.

We have recently visited Forever Story: Chapter 1, a national wedding photography and cinematography exhibition organized by WPAB that brought together photographers, cinematographers and creative professionals for two days of learning, inspiration and connection.

The exhibition featured 150 selected photographs from more than 3,100 submissions, alongside workshops, panel discussions, industry conversations, networking opportunities, and awards recognizing outstanding work and emerging talent.

Our members had the opportunity to explore the exhibition, connect with fellow creatives and experience the diverse ways wedding stories can be captured through photography and cinematography.

Heartiest congratulations to Dipto Mahdud Sultan, Asst. General Secretary of UIU Photography Club, on securing 1st Runner-Up in Forever Story: Chapter 1, a National Wedding Photography & Cinematography Exhibition organized by WPAB

The two-day event brought together the wedding photography and cinematography community through a curated exhibition featuring 150 selected photographs from over 3,100 submissions, along with expert-led workshops, panel discussions and awards celebrating outstanding work of emerging talent.

We are proud to see our member standing among the recognized talents of Bangladesh’s wedding photography community. May this be the beginning of many more stories and achievements to come!

We have recently hosted an engaging and insightful photography workshop focused on the art of turning individual photographs into meaningful visual narratives.

The session was led by Mahmud Hossain Opu, renowned Bangladeshi documentary photographer and photojournalist, who shared his experience, knowledge, and perspective on photography, storytelling and the process of creating stronger visual narratives.

From understanding how a single frame can communicate an idea to exploring how multiple photographs can come together to tell a complete story, the workshop gave participants an opportunity to learn, observe, and think differently about their photography.

Our members actively participated throughout the sessions, exchanged ideas, asked questions and enjoyed an inspiring day of learning and creativity. The discussions and practical insights made the workshop a valuable experience for everyone who attended.

A heartfelt thank you to Mahmud Hossain Opu for sharing his valuable experience and guiding our members throughout the workshop, and to everyone who joined us and made the day so engaging.

Architecture of Stories: Single Photo to Visual Narratives

UIU Photography Club is proud to present an immersive workshop designed to help you look beyond a single frame and understand how photographs can be shaped into meaningful visual stories.

Join us for an engaging session with Mahmud Hossain Opu, a renowned Bangladeshi documentary photographer and photojournalist with over a decade of experience documenting people, communities and major social and political events. His work has been published by The New York Times, National Geographic, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, The Washington Post, and other leading international publications.

Art has a way of making us slow down, observe and see the world from a different perspective.

We have recently visited Bhumi Gallery, Dhaka to experience "PERSISTENCE," a landmark exhibition featuring the works of ten distinguished contemporary artists of Bangladesh. Each artwork reflected a unique story and journey, offering our members a chance to explore the richness of Bangladeshi contemporary art.

It was a meaningful experience that inspired us to look beyond the frame and appreciate creativity in its many forms.
