Archroots Architectural photography & film
Rooted in context.

ArchRoots is an independent architectural photography and film studio that translates design intent into compelling visual narratives. We believe that architecture is more than just a physical structure; it is an evolving dialogue between space and the people who inhabit it. By exploring the intersection of the built environment and human experience, we capture the "soul" of a project through a cinematic and thoughtful lens. Our creative process goes beyond simple documentation to emphasize atmosphere, materiality, and the nuances of light and movement. We approach storytelling at every scale—linking the intimacy of a minute detail to the grandeur of an urban gesture. By thoughtfully incorporating the rhythm of daily life into our compositions, we reveal the true essence of a building’s design and the way it shapes the world around it. At the heart of our work is a commitment to creating enduring, evocative imagery that connects local architectural identity with a global audience. We strive to produce meaningful content that deepens the viewer's understanding of space, culture, and landscape. No matter the scale or location of the project, our vision remains steadfast: to tell the complete story of architecture while remaining rooted in context.

IBA Alumni Club Limited
Purbachal, Dhaka.

IBA Alumni Club is a temporary clubhouse designed for the alumni of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, under the IBA Alumni Association. Situated in the New Town area of Purbachal, Dhaka, the project enjoys a serene natural setting bordered by a lake and an eco-park on its southern edge. This tranquil environment inspired an architectural response that seamlessly integrates the built form with its surroundings.

The building embraces nature through a series of open terraces oriented toward the lake, offering visual and spatial continuity between interior and exterior. The design celebrates the honesty of material exposed brickwork forms both the structure and the surface expression, grounding the building in simplicity and warmth. The two-story mass is articulated through varying levels, connected by open decks and outdoor staircases, creating a fluid movement between spaces while maintaining visual openness and cross-ventilation.

Internally, a series of thoughtfully organized functions are interwoven with pockets of light and air, fostering a sense of transparency and connection to the outdoors. A reception area forms the central node, guiding visitors through an entry porch into a courtyard-like space centered around a mature Krishnachura tree symbolizing welcome and continuity.

Along the lake edge, outdoor seating shaded by trees offers opportunities for quiet reflection and social gathering, complemented by an open terrace above. The site also accommodates a large green field that serves as a recreational ground for sports and events, further strengthening the bond between people and landscape.
