Bau Botanical Garden refers to the Botanical Garden at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensingh, Bangladesh — often called BAU Botanical Garden.
🌿 Overview
The BAU Botanical Garden is a large, scientifically managed botanical garden established in 1962–1963 on the campus of Bangladesh Agricultural University. It was created to support education, research, conservation, and biodiversity awareness.

Situated on: The bank of the old Brahmaputra River within the university campus.

The garden covers about 25 acres and is one of the most significant botanical collections in the country. It includes:
★ 1,500 plant species from Bangladesh and around the world, representing many families and genera.
★ 30 distinct plant zones, such as herbs, flowers, fruits, cactus, orchids, palms, bamboo, spices, timber trees, and rare species.
Water gardens, rock gardens, and themed plant collections.
★ Medicinal plant collections featuring species used for health and traditional medicinal purposes.
★ Fruit gardens with exotic and local fruit trees.
Orchid houses and specialty plant zones.
🕐 Visiting Information (Typical)
Hours: Generally open Sunday–Thursday: 2 PM–5 PM and Friday–Saturday: 9 AM–5 PM (subject to change).
Entrance Fee: Very modest (e.g., around 10 BDT).
Activities: Ideal for nature walks, educational tours, photography, and plant study.
