The Ali Amjad Clock is one of the most iconic historical landmarks in Bangladesh, standing as a silent witness to the rich heritage of Sylhet.
Located on the bank of the Surma River near the Keane Bridge, the clock tower was constructed around 1872. It was commissioned by Nawab Ali Amjad Khan, the landlord of Prithimpasha, to commemorate the visit of the British Viceroy, Lord Northbrook, to Sylhet.
