In the Rohingya camps, collecting water presents significant challenges for women and girls, severely impacting their education and daily lives. The laborious task often requires them to walk long distances and wait in long lines, leaving little time for schooling or other productive activities. This not only hinders their educational opportunities but also exposes them to risks of harassment and violence. Consequently, their physical and mental health suffers, perpetuating a cycle of poverty and limited opportunities for personal and community development. This image captures the resilience and burden carried by the youngest members of the community.

"Thirst in Camps: A Rohingya Refugee's Struggle4Water"

In the vast refugee camp of Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, severe water shortages plague the Rohingya community, making the already challenging conditions even more unbearable. With scorching heatwaves worsening, life in the overcrowded makeshift shelters resembles a descent into hell, as tarpaulin structures provide scant protection. And it's affecting many, especially children who deserve well protection and assistance in any case.

While I was exploring, intending to return to my shelter to escape the intense heat, my eyes suddenly caught sight of a young girl named Santas Bibi, near a water tap. She seemed desperate, pressing her mouth against the tap, hoping to quench her thirst, but unfortunately, there wasn't any water left in the pipe.

After observing her situation, I approached her and asked for her name and address. Then I inquired, "Why don't you drink water from your shelter instead of seeking it here when there's none available?" She replied to me with a smile, "The water in the shelter isn't fit enough for drinking because it has become very hot, that's why I'm here." Now imagine what's the situation here.

The condition of the camp has deteriorated to the point where it is no longer suitable for human habitation, yet we are forced to remain here.
