I spotted this male Great Gray Owl while parked along a quiet road in British Columbia. The soft bokeh behind him immediately caught my attention, but what made the moment special was knowing he was out hunting to provide for his growing family.

Watching these incredible birds go about their daily lives is a reminder of how much effort goes into raising the next generation in the wild.

A sea of lupines, a happy dog, and one very fun evening at Lakeland Flower Festival. 🌸🐾

Some dogs arrive at a session ready to pose. Others are more interested in exploring every scent, flower, and trail they can find. The best photos usually happen when they're simply being themselves.

My goal is always to create images that capture your dog's personality—not just what they look like, but who they are.

Spring is a busy time when every twig matters.

This Green Heron made a quick pass over this lake with nesting material in tow, focused on building the next generation's home. Moments like this only last a second, but they tell a much bigger story about the season.

Not long ago, this owlet's world was no bigger than the hollow of this tree.

These photos were taken when it was only a few days old. Today, I returned to find it perched on top of its nest tree, testing its wings and exploring the world around it. It hopped to a nearby tree, climbed around for a bit, and eventually returned to the nest. (Pictures in a future post).

Soon enough, it'll leave this place behind. For now, it's still finding its footing between the safety of home and the freedom waiting beyond it.

A lot of wildlife photography happens long before the final image is shared.

I photographed this barred owl in my local forest with distracting branches and uneven light. Which is a lot competing for attention. My goal during editing wasn't to change the moment, it was to guide the viewer's eye back to the owl and recreate what drew me to the scene in the first place.
