I've finally published my Fujifilm X100VI review - one year later!

Obviously, the X100VI is a great camera but it's not something that will be replacing my beloved X-T5. It will however remain a very useful part of my camera bag for travel and day to day life.

It's been over a year since I purchased one of the most sought-after Fujifilm cameras ever made. This Fujifilm X100VI review brings together all of my thoughts, images and experiences from the last 12 months, including whether it could ever replace my Fujifilm X-T5.

Bamburgh is probably my favourite place to visit in Northumberland and I’m so glad to be finally featuring it on the blog.

With its spectacular castle, huge sandy beach, historic village and incredible coastal views, there’s plenty to see and do here — whether you’re visiting for a few hours or making a longer trip of it.

I’ve just published my guide to the best things to do in Bamburgh, including the places I’d recommend adding to your itinerary in the village itself and nearby.

23mm or 35mm? Which is better for travel photography?

Personally, I can answer that really quickly or so I thought. I’ve always said that 35mm is my favourite focal length and it’s the one that I really can’t travel without. However, is it really that good for travel photography?

I decided to check the data in Lightroom to see which focal length the data tells me I prefer.

Over the last decade I’ve taken 17,386 photos at 23mm and 14,567 photos at 35mm. I went further and looked at more than 12,000 photos my zoom lenses and found I naturally shoot at 23mm way more often than at 35mm.

The data clearly says 23mm but I would still choose 35mm, every time.

I’ve been trying to work out why in my latest blog post with loads of examples from my travel photography. Head to the link in my bio to read!

I've spent the last decade shooting with both 23mm and 35mm lenses on Fujifilm so I thought I'd do a little head to head to see which is the best focal length for travel photography.

I also had a deep dive through Lightroom to see whether there was a natural winner - the data says 23mm but if you asked me which one I'd take on a trip, it's the 35mm every time.

I've written about why, along with loads of examples from my own travel photography, in my latest post.

Ready for Autumn 🍂

Looking forward to spending the next few months knuckling down to work after the madness of the six weeks holidays. Most of the time it’ll be sat at the desk but with plenty of adventures still to come to end the year on a high!

It’s been a summer. Our first proper summer holidays; six weeks of madness!
