Create a powerful silhouette portrait with water droplets. 💧
By lighting from behind or slightly behind, shapes become darker and strong contrast is created. The water droplets catch the light and create a magical effect.

Daan Oude Elferink parcourt le monde à la recherche de la beauté cachée des lieux abandonnés, interdits ou en ruine, une pratique connue sous le nom d’« urban exploring ». À travers son travail, il capture la mélancolie et la poésie de ces endroits où le temps semble s’être arrêté.
Dans chacune de ses photographies se mêlent atmosphère, histoire et architecture. Il immortalise des lieux autrefois grandioses au moment précis où le temps, la dégradation et parfois la nature reprennent leurs droits. Son regard révèle ainsi une beauté singulière, souvent invisible aux yeux du plus grand nombre.

Daan Oude Elferink travels the world to capture the hidden beauty of abandoned, forbidden, and decaying locations (also known as urban exploring). Through his work, he conveys the melancholy of places where time stands still.

In each photograph, the atmosphere, history, and architecture of a place come together. He captures what was once grand, right as time, neglect, and sometimes nature take it back. In doing so, he shows you beauty where most people simply look away.
