It’s my birthday 💎
II am that I am. I am infinite. I am one step closer to losing that last of the f***s I had to give. I am living in a prayer and on my way to the next set of things I imagined. I am feeling like a God and yet a mere mortal, simultaneously. I know what the caterpillars feel when in Chrysalis. No wonder we marvel at the sight of butterflies. Honestly, I am just grateful to be here. More life 🥂

I looked for images not taken by a man or my former partner and I stumbled across these. shot these in her house bc I insisted on coming over to play dress up. Thank you for immortalizing me, bookie! 😘

A list of thoughts:
1. You’re allowed to be rare and unexplainable.
2. Be the main character and enjoy your life, despite the challenges…it’s literally the only way to do. Every plot twist, new character unlocked, peak or meh experience is quite frankly for your character development. The series that is my life is rich and decadent. Gratitude.
3. 9 year old me remembers listening to singing you gotta “pick your friends like you pick your fruit.” Never left me and has never failed me. Love to the most beautiful basket of fruits a girl could ever pick for herself!
4. The Summer taught me the joy of learning to dance in the rain. Literally and figuratively.
5. RIP to the elder, Aunt Lena. was blessed with a grandmother like her.

I’ve been slow dancing with my shadow,

Happy birthday to me!
Chavon, Vonnie, Von Lee, Von the Don, Vondella (all the women inside me lol )…you’ve (we’ve) done an amazing job on traversing this here life. I’m proud of you. In this year alone, you’ve learned that you could lose it all and still be ok bc of God’s grace. While you got you, you also learned there’s a tribe of people loving you and reminding you just how special and important you are to the world.

May we never forget, ever again, that you are THAT GIRL!! That you you are magic in human form. That you are love. I love you, baby boo 💕🫶🏽🥂
