🩵 Egypt isn’t just a place I travel to — it’s a place I return to.
Since 2019, I’ve returned many times. And at the end of September, I’m going back again. To the dolphins, to the sea.
And honestly? I can’t wait.
Recently, I heard Dr. Eduard Van den Bogaert talk on the Inspiration Point podcast about the fascinating connection between our eyes and our heart.
He shared the idea that, as a foetus growing in the womb, we look towards our own heart.
I don’t know if it’s literally that simple.
But it stayed with me.
Because somehow, this is exactly what I feel I’m doing with photography: connecting eyes and heart.
With I don’t just want to photograph people. I want to meet them. To connect. To create a moment where something opens, where someone can step into their own power — and then capture that moment.
In a little instant photograph.
Something you can take home. A glimpse of the energy, the feeling, the person you were in that moment.
And what happens when you look at that photograph again weeks, months or even years later?
The body remembers.
A ripple effect. 🌊 Trust me. 😁
During the dolphin journey in Egypt, I get to experience this again. The dolphins have a beautiful way of bringing things into movement within us too. 🐬🩵
I may not speak Arabic yet (I’m starting to learn, btw 😉), but I believe we can speak many other languages.
A look. A smile. A photograph. A moment of trust.
My cameras — instant (instax™ Belgium Polaroid ) and digital (Nikon Belgium ) — are my bridge 🩵📸🩵
And perhaps that’s what photography has always been for me:
not simply capturing what we see,
but creating a space where we can truly see — each other, and maybe even ourselves.
Slow down. The closer you look, the deeper you connect, the brighter your light.
