Food photography!
Putting the focus more and more on food photography as it is something new that I have discovered and really like.
I like it when the colours of the food pops. What a difference of result when having professional shots compare to selfies or standard mobile shots of the plates.
Used one studio light for these images with a diffuser.

THE challenge 👉 white products on white background 😊
🤔 How to avoid your products not to be absorbed by your background or light.
The position of the light is key. I have positioned the light on the side.
Using black foam board or can be a black paper around the product allows me to have more contrast on the edges.

Hello there! 🙋‍♂️

I have posted for a while and I thought it would be a good time to introduce myself.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Father of 2 wonderful kids and a passion for photography and travelling.
Balancing between my daily job as an account manager in the food industry and having the opportunity to expand my photography skills by meeting new people and shooting for different projects.

🇧🇪Born and raised in Belgium, Spanish roots 🇪🇸, living nearby Brussels and celebrating my 40th birthday this year.

📸 Started with product photography, which is still the main activity. I love to see how the result can enhance the value of the product and of course the learning towards the result. Being grateful to have participated on other projects to allow me to expand my skills from product photography to lifestyle, portrait, corporate and even food photography.

🤝 Met new people, enlarged my network and partnered up with a high skilled digital marketeer to answer the requests of the clients.

📈 Working step by step on the businesses and being there everyday is my goal.

The aim of the image was to capture the brushes size and shape.
A gradient as background has been used so it wouldn't be too white.

Having different sizes of products and shooting the products separately to merge them in one image it is important to use the right scale of the products. ⬛◾

⚖️💯 By respecting the scale of the products, consumers will not be mislead or disappointed when seeing the real product.

Use the grid and ruler in photoshop to do this. 📏

Look at this plate!🥩

This shot was taken in a restaurant during an evening shift for a group of people.
There was no time or room for installing a softbox and everything went so quick!
I’ve used my speedlight and after several shots this is the result.

Changing or replacing a label of a product can be useful when you shoot for a private label company and they don’t want to expose their customers. Or when you want to use a shot for a “mockup”. Or when you want to see a certain type of label which in this case it was easy and simple.

You can do a lot with photoshop! Take this image as an example, where you need to shoot the product multiple times.
If you master Photoshop, you could do it. Is it more efficient?Hmm... I don't know, could be.

Me? I ask the customer enough products so I need to do less in post 😊
