From the daily walks with my dog, I got back into the habit of taking pictures every day just for myself. (Something that I lost when photography became a profession 17 years ago.)
Right now, I’m invested in the shapes of shadows and the hardness and softness of light during different times of the day. Since moving to Switzerland from Brazil almost 4 months ago, I noticed how different light is in another hemisphere. So, I started paying more attention to these little details throughout the day.
My new city, Uster Stadt Uster, is absolutely beautiful and has been my favorite muse. The way light hits the landscape, and the water reflects the sky, inspires me deeply. If you pay close attention, the mix of natural elements looks like a painting in itself.
And to be honest, being between mountains, farm animals, and so much green definitely feels like home, like my dear Minas Gerais, in Brazil. Perhaps that’s what draws me so strongly to Switzerland. It reminds me of my homeland: the stillness of the landscape, the slower pace, the secrets inside the valleys, the dreams hidden behind the mountains.
I think we have a lot in common. And even though I miss home, I’m also at home already. 🤍
