Setting Sail Through History with the Legendary Cutty Sark! ⬇️

Standing majestically in Greenwich, London, the Cutty Sark is more than just a ship - it’s a true survivor and a testament to the golden age of sail! Built in Scotland in 1869, she was designed for speed, specifically to win the lucrative race to bring tea from China to eager Victorian Britain.

Did you know her name comes from a witch in Robert Burns’ famous poem “Tam O’Shanter” who wore a “cutty sark” (a short nightgown)? Quite a cheeky name for such a powerful vessel!

While steamships and the opening of the Suez Canal eventually ended the era of tea clippers, the Cutty Sark found new purpose, notably in the Australian wool trade, where she set incredible speed records. Under the fearless Captain Richard Woodget, she once sailed from London to Sydney in an astonishing 73 days!
Today, she’s the last surviving tea clipper in the world and a fantastic museum where you can explore her decks, walk beneath her gleaming hull, and immerse yourself in maritime history. A truly iconic piece of engineering and adventure!
