The Betway Clash of the Legends is back with a massive change. Moving away from the old "nation vs. nation" setup, the tournament is shifting entirely to club loyalties.
The Orlando Pirates Legends will take the pitch to battle it out alongside their Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs Legends, as well as local heavyweights Township Rollers and Mochudi Centre Chiefs.
While the full matchday squad list is kept close to the chest by organizers until closer to kickoff, several legendary Buccaneers have already been confirmed or heavily involved in the tournament's official rollout:
Happy Jele: The legendary former Pirates captain and defender was a key speaker at the tournament's official launch in Gaborone and is confirmed to anchor the defense.
Lucky Lekgwathi: The iconic double-treble winning captain, who featured in previous editions of the tournament, is once again returning to action.
Dikgang "Terminator" Mabalane: The lightning-fast former Pirates winger who previously put on a show in the tournament series.
They will face a star-studded Kaizer Chiefs Legends side that features the likes of Reneilwe "Yeye" Letsholonyane, Josta Dladla, Tefo Mashamaite, Mandla Masango, and Morgan Gould.

A young match official, Alpha Moraope posted the following message on his Facebook Account:

As referees: They take insults and criticism every game from the stands, benches, and online, but they still show up with their whistles to keep things fair. They get less than a second to make decisions that fans will replay for days, yet they run every minute and make those split-second calls so that football can happen. The abuse is loud, but their dedication, courage, and love for the game is louder. Big respect and appreciation to every referee out there — you keep the game alive 🙌
