South Luangwa...
some highlights of our first South Luangwa photo safari this year. Testing my new Sony gear and very happy with the results. The combo of the super light weight 300mm f/2.8 and the 400-800mm f/6.3-8.0 works like a charm.

Tigress Low Key...
These images were taken in harsh midday light when a tigress went for a drink and the cave like environment created a beautiful dark background while the light caught the eye of the beautiful cat. Best of all, we got to enjoy this beauty completely on our own. This is why we opt for some full day outings in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve.

Moments of a Chobe & Okavango Delta photo safari.
The high water levels this year in both locations provide stunning photo opportunities for our guest. One of the highlights on this trip is a doors-off helicopter flip over the Okavango Delta, such a special experience.

Just back from an amazing 8-day Chobe + Okavango Delta trip that I hosted for Pangolin Photo Safaris— what a place for wildlife photography! I shot with Sony a7 IV and the 400–800mm f/6.3-f/8 that I took from our Pangolin Chobe Hotel and honestly I’m blown away by the sharpness and image quality this lens delivers. It’s not the fastest lens especially at 800mm and not ideal in low light conditions, but it still pulled incredible detail across the board.

This isn’t a do‑it‑all lens, but it’s a fantastic add‑on if you photograph small birds you can’t get close to. It handled tiny subjects like little bee-eaters and malachite kingfishers beautifully, and also gave lovely close-ups of birds and mammals. If you want long reach and crisp detail from a distance, this lens is a winner — highly recommended for birding and long-range wildlife work. Let me know in the comments if you have used or own this lens and your thoughts on it.
