I know we’re all desperate for spring, but I HAD to share these two lovelies in our last little sprinkling of snow.

I asked Justin and Freyja to help me warm up a little before the photography season started for me, and they did not disappoint. I was able to try out a few new little prompts and ideas, but it was so hard not to just capture their personalities as well 💛

This is my friend Ashley.

She was one of the first people I got to know when we moved here. She is one of the kindest, intelligent and full of life people I know. I love her.

Ashley is Indigenous of mixed ancestry - L’nu (Mi’kmaq) and Ukrainian, and a Member of St. George’s Indian Band of Newfoundland.

Over the past few years, I’ve watched her embrace and learn so much and teach others about her heritage. It was a privilege to photograph her in her beautiful ribbon skirt that she made to honour both sides of her 💛
