Ginny Fobert Art Fine Art Photography and Printing Services A photograph is made, not taken. Some photographers have a uniform, recognizable style.

It is made in your own mind and with your own eye, and it is slow and considered in its making. To me, it seems limiting to only photograph the world in one way. I don’t consider myself a traditional photographer. I like to look for something of interest to photograph and then look beyond it to find a different way to take the shot. Photography allows me to get outside the box, be a bit rebellious

, break some rules and get away with it. The day I discovered photography was the day I also discovered a hidden part of myself.

Most of you know that I own a fine art gallery in Carleton Place, ON. This Saturday, August 16, I am hosting an outdoor art show along the river adjacent to the gallery. The show focusses on fine art - no crafts. There will be 32 artists from the Ottawa region, music all day, food vendors on sight, plein air painters and SUNSHINE. And of course a special exhibit and more art inside the gallery. If you are looking for a Saturday road trip, I would love to have you come visit.

Sunday, August 10, 2–4 pm – Join us for the Vernissage of two exhibitions sharing the same space: Wild Pigments: Paintings and Vessels by and Fusion 925, a jewelry show by .

Saturday, August 16 – Don’t miss the Inaugural Riverfront Artscape, an all-day outdoor art show featuring art, food, music, and live demos. Over 30 artists will be displaying their work along the beautiful Mississippi River.

Both events are proudly hosted by our gallery.
