There is something incredibly special about capturing a graduate standing on the edge of a brand new chapter.

This beautiful young lady is a huge *Hamilton* fan, and she chose to decorate her graduation cap with the words **”Not Throwin’ Away My Shot.”** Those words are so much more than a lyric—they’re a reminder to chase opportunities, work hard, stay determined, and never let fear stand in the way of your dreams.

As I photographed her, I couldn’t help but think about how perfectly that message reflects graduation itself. There is something incredibly special about photographing a high school graduate, but this session held an extra place in my heart.

We incorporated some of his favourite toys from childhood into his graduation photos, creating a beautiful reminder of just how far he has come. Seeing those treasured memories alongside the confident young man he has become was both touching and inspiring. It’s amazing how quickly the years pass, and these images tell the story of a childhood well lived and a future full of possibilities.

I’ve had the privilege of knowing this wonderful family for several years, and being trusted to capture such an important milestone is an honour I don’t take lightly. Watching families grow and preserving these once-in-a-lifetime moments is one of the greatest joys of what I do.

We couldn’t have asked for better weather and the park is SO PRETTY right now.
