On this Earth Day I thought I’d share one of my favourite photos! One that I haven’t shared on here before. An aerial from an open plane over the Bugaboos in BC. Totally cloud covered one moment and dramatic peaks poking through the next. A thrilling experience to witness these scenes and be able to capture them. There is so much beauty in this world and so much worth protecting. Let’s fight for what’s really important. Ask yourself what changes you can make every day to create a difference. Consuming less, voting for the environment, and buying more local products are some of the things that I will do! Think about what you can do to make change!

An adventure for the books 🤙. Kite boarding a small frozen section of Lake Ontario in front of the gorgeous Toronto skyline! There aren’t many if any days per year where this is even possible to do. Conditions like ice thickness, snow quality, wind direction and speed all aligned for us on this single day making for an incredibly unique experience! Note that we were with a local expert on this area and took the proper safety precautions. I do not recommend venturing out here without that! More to come soon 🤙

That’s a wrap on 2021 ✌️. One of the best yet hardest years of my life. Lots of change, especially these past few months but lots of growth and surprises as well. Wishing everyone a safe and healthy 2022! Here is a sunrise aerial photo of the beautiful Kootenay region of BC from early fall featuring some fresh snow! Happy New Years 🎆!

It’s hard to describe the feeling of seeing lights dancing in the sky. Nights can be so still here. Deathly quiet. Setting alarms every 30 minutes or so and peaking outside the tent to see if there’s any activity in the sky. Nothing. Nothing. Then it’s going off. Put all the layers you have on. Grab your gear and enjoy the show! Moments come and go. With the aurora a scene like this could last all night or less than a minute. Dancing over Tombstone Mountain for just a few minutes on this cold night. I come back to the tent and go to sleep. I wake up a couple of hours later and Andrew still isn’t back! Is he okay, did a bear eat him, I don’t know. I sit up confused on if I should search for him or get help. I start getting dressed and just as I was about to leave I see his light coming back thankfully. One of the more memorable nights I’ve had.

Goats of Gimli Peak. Such a fun morning hanging out with this beautiful mountain goat and it’s family in the alpine. So curious and cool! This one posed for me shortly before hiking out after an incredible night up here.

Two planes are better than one! Taken On an early morning flight in the fall with . On our way back to Nelson we crossed paths with another plane which turned out to be Douglas’ friend Kirk. We flew side by side for a bit and Douglas lined up some fantastic angles for me outside of the window. Easily one of the better experiences I’ve had in the air!

Andrew hiking down Observation Mountain in Kluane National Park. It was about a 20km day from camp with some large elevation gains. Kluane is a mind blowing place and the landscapes here are simply wild. It is a place that makes you feel quite small and insignificant. The mountains here are the tallest in the country, the ice field is one of the largest on earth and the animals are above you on the food chain. Bears might have been the concern here but it was quicksand that gave me the near death experience hiking out. By far the scariest experience of my life. I’m still trying to process this experience but this is no doubt one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to.
