Looking for an adventurous volunteer to accompany me in a local swamp in the Barrie area photographing migratory birds.
I was out a few days ago and saw over 1000 geese, ducks, trumpeter swans and even a bald eagle. Also saw beavers, a raccoon and a couple porcupines.
The plan would be to leave by 6pm and return at 9pm on any evening in the next 2 weeks. Access is by foot (wading through the ice cold water) and possibly by kayak or canoe. We may be in a blind or camouflaged while waiting quietly for the flocks to return inland for the night. We would likely be returning in the dark.
I will provide most of the gear needed other than chest waders or a wet/dry suit for walking through deep water. Let me know if you have access to this.
This is not a paid position (but will hopefully be a memorable experience). To keep things simple, a local person is preferred. Must be a non-smoker. Photographers welcome.
If this sounds interesting, let me know.
Thanks,
Ron
