Once a place of movement and commerce, now left behind. This old Calex station in Mattawa, Ontario is slowly being reclaimed by nature.

We humans build with the idea of permanence—commerce, fuel, enterprise—but when the lights go out, what remains is a fragile shell. Pavement cracks, weeds push through, rain and frost wear down walls, and eventually, the forest takes back what was always hers.

Standing here, you can feel the echo of what was—a stop on someone’s journey, a small business that once mattered—and the quiet reminder that time and nature always win in the end.

This is my favourite camera I have ever owned. It is a perfect example of near flawless German engineering. It is a solid block of metal. It has been simplified to allow the shooter to just do that, shoot. You become one with it and the results are magic. I don’t think I will ever sell this camera. Ever. This is my Leica M10.
