In the 256 days I was pregnant with you. I did approximately 3,626 finger pricks. That averages to 14 a day, most days it was more, which doesn’t include blood ketone tests either.
I used at least 207 infusion sets, not counting the ones that I had to replace if it kinked or if it ripped out too soon.
I did bloodwork at every doctors appointment.
I saw 7 different doctors, and had many different nurses. I had two teams of diabetes specialists.
You my love were brought into this world with a lot of hard work, and a lot of love.
Those 256 days were some of the most terrifying days your father and I had to go through. In the end it was worth way more than we ever could have imagined.
You my dear, are our rainbow. 💙💙💙
