I used to believe what I had been told by others, until I started to see for myself that this wasn't actually completely the whole story.
It all began about three weeks ago when I started my annual search for beauty in the early spring cool temps. At that point in winter/spring I am so thirsty for colour and for new life to spring forth from the dead of winter.
While finding red trilliums first, followed by the whites, I also came upon new not fully open trillium buds that were PINK!
These were not old dying trilliums fading out from white to pink as I've always been told. These were standing tall, in bud or partially open budding blooms.
I did some research and I'm not crazy ~ indeed there is a pink trillium!
Please allow me to introduce Trillium Grandiflorum F. Roseum (Pink Trillium).
"Trillium grandiflorum f. roseum (Pink Trillium) is a captivating, spring-blooming herbaceous perennial native to North American woodlands. Famous for its large, clear-pink flowers, this plant thrives in the shaded understory of deciduous forests."

These are not the best shots as my ISO was too high etc. (forever learning the camera & lighting); but I had to share and you can bet your bottom dollar next year I will be doing a better job of capturing these pink babies!
