10 years ago this month I started this adventure. I was VERY pregnant and with the encouragement of my husband I decided to give this a shot just a few months before having my second child. I reached out to family and friends and asked who would be interested in having their photos taken. I had some very kind people, who took a chance on me and this is how it all started. My Christmas mini sessions went from a few families to about 10 or 12 the following year, to needing 3 separate sessions to fit in the 30 or so families by my 3rd year. Over the years I went from photographing every weekend, to having to lessen the amount of sessions I took on. My kids got older and busier. My full time job became more demanding and frankly…I’m a wee bit older and a wee bit more tired! Having said that I appreciate, so much, the families who stick with me. I fell in love with meeting new people and capturing a small moment in their lives. I’ve watched kids grow up, families change and I’ve had the incredible privilege of celebrating significant milestones in the lives of many people. Throughout these years my own children grew up with this as a part of their lives. They have attended photo sessions with me, and they’ve watched me edit hundreds of thousands of photos (and begrudgingly allow me to take photos of them). Part of me cringes when I look at the photos I took in my first few years, but at the same time, my heart melts. I am so grateful to those who have given me the opportunity to grow as a photographer. Every time I’m given the chance to photograph, I learn and become better. I couldn’t do that without all of you. So, thank you! Thank you for letting me into your lives, even if just for a short time. Thank you for letting me watch your families grow. Thank you for letting me help you celebrate. Thank you for trusting me with your memories 📸❤️
