“Sunshine: the original mood booster.”
After what feels like an endless stretch of monsoon rain, I’m looking forward to the return of blue skies and dry corrals.
This young cowgirl was focused on the job at hand, holding her rope tight. If you look closely, you can even spot a little branding action reflected in her lenses.
That’s one of the things I appreciate most about - exceptional clarity. Each and every pair let you take in every detail with comfort, quality, and style. Whether you’re working cattle, chasing a rogue golf ball, or making the most of a sunny day on the water, have you covered.

“Adventure has a way of finding those who travel in good company.”
Tucked away in a rocky canyon, surrounded by moss-covered stone, fallen timber, and the sound of water weaving through the creek bed, we stumbled upon this cool little watering hole.
An afternoon spent exploring and a reminder that some of the best days aren’t built around a destination. They’re built around the company you keep and the moments you find along the way.
Good company makes every adventure memorable. Great gear makes it easier to enjoy the ride. The Filson, Tin Cloth Primaloft Vest from was made for days like this. It’s rugged enough for the bush, comfortable enough to wear all day, and built to handle whatever adventure comes your way. Thankful to pair it with a cozy hoodie!

“Patience is not the absence of action; it’s knowing when the action can wait.”
This c**t that belongs to handled his first branding amazingly well. While there was plenty happening around him, he stayed calm, attentive, and willing.
One of the most important lessons a young horse can learn is patience. Knowing when to pause, let them stand, and reward them for making the right choice is just as important as the work itself.
Between calves, this guy was content. I was lucky to catch him standing quietly, taking it all in.
Let us know which version of this image catches your eye. Are you ready for more branding photos? Stay tuned for a few shots of this fella in action.

“The mountains have their own way of announcing a storm.”
Not long after these images were taken, the weather rolled in. As the first gusts of wind swept through the valley, you could see the landscape changing before your eyes.
Heavy rainfall warnings continue to cover much of our region, and water levels have risen quickly. This spot looks very different today. The river is running hard, carrying silt and debris downstream. Its vibrant colour has been replaced by shades of brown, and flood precautions are already underway in many areas.
This is life in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Conditions can shift in a matter of hours, reminding us how quickly the weather can reshape the landscapes we enjoy.
When wild weather rolls in, dependable gear matters. We’re grateful for outerwear from that stands up to the elements when the forecast decides to make things interesting.

“Learning the ropes starts long before you hold them on your own.”
There’s something special about watching the next generation step into the rhythm of a family branding. This young cowboy roped with three different horses and didn’t miss a beat. From the corner of my eye, I caught him resting this horse and a curious calf wandered up. This is the kind of memory that stays with you for a while. They sure grow-up quickly.
Which version of this image do you like best? What catches your eye here? Who knows this handy little cowboy?

“The best seat in the house doesn’t always belong inside.”
Like my saddles, I expect quality craftsmanship and I appreciate comfort that’s built without compromise. The Vaquero Chair by delivers both. It’s built tough enough for the great outdoors but refined enough to complement a well-adorned patio.
A sturdy, folding, wooden frame. Strong, hand-machined, metal braces. Tough-as-nails canvas. Every detail feels intentional, right down to the premium, canvas carrying bag.
Truth be told, this might just be the best seat in the house, before and after a ride. Whether it’s sitting in a barn doorway soaking up the evening sun or winding down beside a fire after a long day, this chair is designed for the folks who appreciate rugged luxury.
I’m ready to revel in comfort that stems from quality, heritage craftsmanship. Are you?

“Mountain air has a way of making the cold feel worthwhile.”
Even with spring blooming, the Rocky Mountains hold onto their chill. Kruz, Flash and I paused along this barren riverbed to take in the rugged beauty around us. Majestic, snow-covered peaks and watchful evergreens frame the rugged landing that will soon be flowing with spring runoff.
Staying warm and dry on adventures like this is non-negotiable. The Filson, Spokane Insulated Cruiser, from , is a game changer for those unpredictable, adventure filled days. Clearly, the ultimate in comfort and support for my equine partners are blankets from .

“Adventure has a way of finding those willing to enjoy the little things.”
Happiness doesn’t have to be complicated. As this little cowgirl rode through the muddy water, smiling from ear to ear, I was reminded that even simple things can bring great joy. I’m certain that Hank enjoyed the weekend, as much as the kids who rode him – It’s amazing how great he is with kids, in the right setting.
Which of these images do you like best? Who knows this cool little cowgirl? Where are the Hank fans at?

“Patience and timing tend to work hand in hand.”
Catching multiple subjects in an appealing manner can be tricky, especially when animals are involved. I’ll admit it, I’m picky. I think most photographers are - we strive for perfection and hope to meet our vision. Sometimes, that goal is a little lofty. When patience catches a lucky break, it makes my day.
I appreciate how patient my pal, , Kruz, and my horses are when I’m in photographer mode. I guess great gear and beautiful scenery make it worthwhile!
Spring adventures call for quality gear. The Filson, Rustic Canvas Jac Shirt, fresh from is here. It’s rugged, easy to pack, and classic. It was a pleasure to shoot this piece. I find myself reaching for it already. Stay tuned for a few new pieces!
What catches your eye here? Which of these images do you like best? Are you ready for spring adventure?
