I saw a smaller scale idea of this and wanted to make my own and customize it for our photography business.

We appreciate EVERYONE who books with us, even if we don't do a lot of booking every year. But we do notice every time one of our pictures comes across our feed or when you tag us!

Hello everyone!!

We are closing up for the Christmas season! Time for us to hunker down, watch some Christmas movies, play some board games and enjoy our fur kids, especially the new psycho kitten.

We will not be booking any new photo sessions from December 1, 2025 through to March 1, 2026 - basically the super cold months because numb fingers don't run cameras very easily! However, any sessions that have been booked already will still remain booked.

That being said, if you are wanting to book photo sessions for in the New Year, we will still be taking bookings and our page will still be active (just no postings for a while). However, there are a few straggler sessions that we'll post before the end of the month, so keep an eye out for those!

The only exception to this break would be if you or someone you know needs Fur-Ever Portraits completed. We would love to be considered for those sessions as we know there aren't many photographers in the area that offer these, and as someone who lost one of their fur babies in 2024, we want to give you the opportunity to capture the memories with your fur baby.

Thank you for another fantastic year and for inviting us to share in many memories with you all! We look forward to working with you in 2026!

Had the pleasure of capturing some engagement pictures for this awesome couple a few weeks ago. There will be some more coming in the fall as we're doing a split engagement session as they'd like some more with their dog Sadie, but love how these ones turned out!

We had the absolute pleasure of capturing the photos for this amazing couple on June 21st. We had a slight hiccup with one of our cameras and the day got a little off track, but with some wrangling and quick thinking on my part, we got the day back on track pretty easily. And our day-of emergency kit came in handy multiple times for many different people!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Hannah! May all the happiness in the world be forever yours.

Captured these photos of some 2025 NDSS grads before their prom. Also had to complete an emergency dress repair for one of the girls. This session made me realize that I should carry an emergency sewing kit to all photo sessions, not just weddings!

We just wanted to put this out there now so everybody knows and can prepare!

We’re Back — and Evolving!

After taking some much needed time to relax, reset, and redesign, we’ve decided to reopen K & M Photography starting January 2026 — with a fresh perspective and a few important changes.

This time away helped us reconnect with the why behind us doing photography in the first place: we want people to have the opportunity to have special memories captured without having to break the bank to do so. That purpose hasn’t changed, but how we bring it to life is getting an upgrade.

Here’s what’s new:

🔹 We will no longer be offering weddings as one of our session types. Weddings take the biggest toll on Kaitlyn’s energy, health and mental state when faced with 8+ hours of photos to w**d through and edit after capturing the whole day itself. To keep things simple, we have decided to eliminate them completely.

🔹 We will no longer be offering donations in the form of free photo sessions for fundraisers. There were too many provided that still haven’t been used so we can no longer offer them. We will, however, still be offering gift certificates to be purchased for gifts as well as honoring any that are still out there as we still have all of the gift certificate codes.

🔹 Any additional editing (hat and shirt logos, clothing wrinkles, etc.) will be edited out at our discretion. For example, we will edit one photo from the session with the extras in it but that’s it. We have styling guides to help you plan for your session for this purpose to help avoid these things in the first place.

🔹 We will no longer be supplying props for any photo sessions (with the exception of Santa minis), whether it’s bo***ir or cake smash. We just simply don’t have the room to store props in our tiny home and with everyone wanting different themes for cake smashes, it’s easier for the client to purchase the supplies rather than us having to hold onto different items. We will still keep a few items we’ve purchased that we can provide, simply because they’re ones we already have. However, if you would like us to source the props for you, we will for an additional fee of $50.00 (or more depending on the props requested).

🔹 We will only have our Facebook account for people to follow our posts and upcoming mini sessions, as well as our website. We will no longer have an Instagram account as it tends to get forgotten when we are posting photos from sessions from our editing computer. If someone that’s interested in booking something doesn’t have Facebook, they can simply contact us through our website instead.

🔹 We will be closed every year from December 1st to March 1st (the cold months) simply to take a small break every year to spend time with friends and family and to gear up for the next season.

These changes reflect what we’ve learned, what we believe in, and how we want to move forward — more intentional, more aligned, and more committed than ever.
