We just wanted to put this out there now so everybody knows and can prepare!
We’re Back — and Evolving!
After taking some much needed time to relax, reset, and redesign, we’ve decided to reopen K & M Photography starting January 2026 — with a fresh perspective and a few important changes.
This time away helped us reconnect with the why behind us doing photography in the first place: we want people to have the opportunity to have special memories captured without having to break the bank to do so. That purpose hasn’t changed, but how we bring it to life is getting an upgrade.
Here’s what’s new:
🔹 We will no longer be offering weddings as one of our session types. Weddings take the biggest toll on Kaitlyn’s energy, health and mental state when faced with 8+ hours of photos to w**d through and edit after capturing the whole day itself. To keep things simple, we have decided to eliminate them completely.
🔹 We will no longer be offering donations in the form of free photo sessions for fundraisers. There were too many provided that still haven’t been used so we can no longer offer them. We will, however, still be offering gift certificates to be purchased for gifts as well as honoring any that are still out there as we still have all of the gift certificate codes.
🔹 Any additional editing (hat and shirt logos, clothing wrinkles, etc.) will be edited out at our discretion. For example, we will edit one photo from the session with the extras in it but that’s it. We have styling guides to help you plan for your session for this purpose to help avoid these things in the first place.
🔹 We will no longer be supplying props for any photo sessions (with the exception of Santa minis), whether it’s bo***ir or cake smash. We just simply don’t have the room to store props in our tiny home and with everyone wanting different themes for cake smashes, it’s easier for the client to purchase the supplies rather than us having to hold onto different items. We will still keep a few items we’ve purchased that we can provide, simply because they’re ones we already have. However, if you would like us to source the props for you, we will for an additional fee of $50.00 (or more depending on the props requested).
🔹 We will only have our Facebook account for people to follow our posts and upcoming mini sessions, as well as our website. We will no longer have an Instagram account as it tends to get forgotten when we are posting photos from sessions from our editing computer. If someone that’s interested in booking something doesn’t have Facebook, they can simply contact us through our website instead.
🔹 We will be closed every year from December 1st to March 1st (the cold months) simply to take a small break every year to spend time with friends and family and to gear up for the next season.
These changes reflect what we’ve learned, what we believe in, and how we want to move forward — more intentional, more aligned, and more committed than ever.
