happy 37th birthday to my sweet john 🫶🏻
my best friend, my portrait muse, my fav hiking partner, and the best cat dad. we’ve celebrated 7 of your birthdays together now (sometimes apart in different provinces) and every year i love you more. we have experienced so much together over the years - a pandemic, moving apartments in halifax 3 times, job changes, pet loss, grief, falling in love with the highlands of cape breton, moving provinces, and caring for our 2 little bad cats (+ one in heaven).
my favourite thing about you, is easily your heart. I’m pretty sure anyone who knows you can agree with me on this - but you make everyone feel seen and accepted, no matter who they are or how long you’ve known them. you show kindness to all people, animals, and even the tiny bugs that most people would squish and think nothing more of.
you are my biggest cheerleader, and how much you do for me does not go unappreciated or unseen. from the big things like driving me to and from weddings and sessions hours away, carrying my heavy ass camera bags while on a hike or shoot, to the little things like always clearing the car off in the winter or bringing me home a sprite when you get off work - you consistently show me unconditional love, and patience (which god knows you need a lot of with me LOL)
to quote protest the hero, if the sun bursts apart at the end of the world, i don’t think i would give a damn - as long as i’m surrounded by you and god damn newfoundland 🖤🌊
