If I’m being completely honest, I often feel like the biggest hypocrite.

As a photographer, I encourage anyone and everyone to get in the photos. I think it’s SO important to not only capture all the photos but to be in them as well.

And while this is something I wholeheartedly believe in, I would much prefer being the photographer than the subject. I want to be in the photos but as soon as I see it, that nagging self doubt creeps in and I immediately seek out my flaws like I’m searching for Waldo. 🤓

But I think that’s missing the point.

Unless you’re posing for a fashion magazine or a designer brand, photos are meant to capture a moment in time. The most beautiful photos capture feeling and emotion. The most meaningful images bring you back to a moment in time that you never want to forget. They become priceless when they take you back to a time, a place, or to someone you may never see again.

So take all the photos, be in the photos, print them, share them, and love yourself where you’re at. (I promise I’ll do the same!) There are so many beautiful things about you and years from now, when you look back at all your photos, you’ll be so thankful that you did. ❤️

A Mother is more than just a title, it’s a verb. It’s putting someone else’s needs before your own, and loving unconditionally. It’s late nights, early mornings, pick-ups, drop offs, making meals, dirty laundry, cleaning up messes, wiping faces, cheering from the stands and often worrying if you’re even doing a good job. But mostly, it’s showing up, on the good days, the bad days and every day in between.

To all the Moms, expectant Moms, grieving Moms, Step-Moms, pet Moms and to all those who have cared for a child as if they were her own, happy Mother’s Day! You truly make the world a better place. Thank you for all you do! ❤️
