🦆 Common loons are territorial and aggressive towards mallards, and will frequently drive them away from their territory.

🐥 However, in 2019, a pair of common loons in Wisconsin were observed raising a mallard duckling for several weeks, having seemingly adopted the bird after it had been abandoned by its parents. How precious is that?!

🥚 It's turtle egg laying season! Snapping turtles mate from April through November, with their peak egg laying season in June and July. The female can hold s***m for several seasons, using it as necessary. How crazy is that?!
