This bull elk stopped right by the roadside to graze. I've been to Banff four times, and this was the first time I've ever encountered anything like this. I pulled over, held my breath, and just watched. No rush, no noise—just the quiet sounds of the forest and the steady rhythm of him grazing. I chose black and white because I wanted to focus on the details—the texture of his antlers, the strength in his frame, the stillness of the moment.

Man of the house..

He stands there, tongue out, that little white patch on his chest, watching the door, wating for me.

When the house is noisy, he is calm in the middle of it. When the house is quiet, he is the one who makes it feel full. That's what he does. He holds the family together without saying a word.

That is a dog's love. It doesn't ask. It doesn't leave. It just stays, every day, with his whole heart, and makes me feel chosen.
