In general, I find much of Egypt to be a little bit overwhelming. The crowds and the aggressive vendors can be a lot to take in for first-time visitors.
In the Western Desert, all of that gets stripped back. Conversations flow easily, history is a little less fenced off, and, my God! the landscapes. They're just jaw-dropping.
I'm happy to share some of my favourite photographs from my two visits to this remote region of Egypt.
These photos of Egypt's Western Desert showcase the breadth and wonder of one of Egypt's most remote and beautiful regions.
