I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what I want my photography to feel like & what I want my life to feel like while I’m doing it. 🤍

I also know that not every family will be able to make this investment, especially in the economy we’re living in right now, and I completely understand that. It kills me that, at my current pricing, a full session doesn’t even cover a cart of groceries for my family of five.

But the truth is, I have to make some changes.

I can’t keep working myself to death.

I want to work less, be more present with my own family, and have the time and space to give your family the kind of experience and photographs I truly want to create.

So this fall, my signature session pricing is changing.

This isn’t simply a number increase. It’s a change in the way I’m working.

More intentional.
More personal.
More thoughtful

Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.

And if this feels like the right fit for your family, my fall books are officially open. 🍂

If you’ve been thinking about updating your family photographs, I’d love to create something really meaningful with you.

A little life/business update ❤️

The last few weeks have been a bit of a wild ride.

I’ve been really, really unwell, and while I’m still figuring out exactly what happened medically, it’s also forced me to take a pretty hard look at how I’ve been living and working.

I’ve been running my photography business for 15+ years, and somewhere along the way, I think I got a little lost in it.

There wasn’t one big moment where I decided to burn myself out. It was just one more wedding, one more deadline, one more opportunity, one more thing I had to get done.

And because I genuinely love what I do, it was really easy to convince myself that being completely overwhelmed was just what ambition looked like.

My brain was never quiet.

And then there was the constant cycle of everyone feeling bad.
Clients would feel bad reaching out again because I hadn’t answered.
I’d feel terrible that they felt like they were bothering me.

I’d feel guilty for not responding quickly.
Then I’d get even more overwhelmed by the messages.

It was just this ridiculous cycle of everyone feeling bad.

And somehow, I thought that was normal.

We should not normalize living in survival mode.

Being constantly overwhelmed. Constantly behind. Constantly thinking about what you haven’t done yet. Feeling guilty because you can’t keep up.

That isn’t a badge of honour.

And I’m not saying I don’t want to be ambitious anymore. I absolutely do. I still want to create. I still want to do beautiful work.

But I don’t want to build a successful business while missing the life I’m building it for.

I’m feeling more like myself again, and I’m taking this whole experience as one hell of a wake up call.

Maybe success for me doesn’t mean more anymore.

Maybe it means building a business that gives me a really good life, instead of quietly eating it.

I’m still figuring out what that looks like.

But I know one thing for sure:

Survival mode is not my new normal. ❤️

A quick little update, taking short break.

I’m dealing with some ongoing health issues and need to take a bit of a step back from work messages right now.

If you’re waiting on a reply about a session, booking, outfits, or a gallery, I haven’t forgotten about you. I’ll get back to everyone as soon as I’m able.

Thanks so much for your patience with me right now. 🤍

A little extra grateful for my team this weekend. 🤍

I haven’t been around here quite as much lately while I deal with some unexpected health stuff. In over 15 years of photographing weddings, I’ve never been late or never had to leave one early but yesterday I had to listen to my body and let my incredible team step in for me and go home.

So if you saw me looking a little quieter than usual or disappearing for breaks, I promise I wasn’t being antisocial 😂 I was just doing my very best to be there while taking care of myself too.

Thank you Ross & Alyssa for showing up without hesitation and making sure our couple was completely taken care of. Having people I trust to step in when I physically can’t is something I’m incredibly grateful for. 🤍

I’m okay, I’m being looked after, and I’m taking a little time to rest and get back on my feet. I may be a little slower to messages for the next bit, but I’ll be back. 🤍

Quinn & Jared 🤍

Fleetwood Mac coming in hot with the perfect song for a day that was never really about the little details, it was about their people.

It was unbelievably hot, plans shifted, and Quinn and Jared chose to spend their day laughing with friends, surrounded by family, and soaking in the people who came to celebrate them.

Shoutout to who Ross went back after my coverage ended and captured the party in all its chaotic glory.

This crew knew how to show the love. 🥂

🦋 I’m so grateful for every milestone, and the happy days I’ve been trusted to capture lately. I have so much beauty waiting to be shared, and I’m slowly making my way back here to show you more of it.
Summer feels so fast and slow at the same time. I’ve been taking the time to slow down & feed my soul and disconnect from my phone, which in the creative industry is the best way to battle burn out.

Starting with this absolute dream of an evening in the flowers. ✨
