Marcelina & Michal’s maternity session was all about keeping things simple, intentional, and timeless.

They wanted traditional portraits with clean composition, careful attention to detail, and plenty of moments looking straight into the camera. Nothing overly posed or distracting, just honest, calm portraits that feel like them.

It’s always interesting how often these are the images that end up framed or placed in family albums, eventually shown to children as part of their story. While the fun, candid moments have their place and bring so much energy to a gallery, there is something powerful about a straightforward portrait of people simply smiling into the camera.

Those are the photographs that tend to last the longest in homes, and often carry the most meaning over time.

Still can’t believe it’s been almost a year since Brenda & Nick’s wedding.

They’re just genuinely kind, easygoing people, and from the start, they knew they wanted their photos to feel natural, clean, and simple. Nothing forced. Just real moments, with some guidance during portraits so they never felt awkward, and a calm, respectful approach during the important parts of the day, especially their ceremony.

We also did their engagement session beforehand, which made such a difference. By the time the wedding came around, being in front of the camera felt easy, and honestly, a lot more fun.

There’s something really special about keeping things simple.

Astrid and Kevin chose to celebrate their baby’s baptism at home, with just their parents and the people who matter most. No pressure, no expectations. Just a meaningful moment shared in a space that already holds so many memories.

Dave & Sue’s engagement party felt like so much more than just a party.

The design was simple, soft, and really well thought out. The draping made a huge impact. It pulled the whole room together and gave it that finished, intentional feel that you usually only see on wedding days.

One of those setups where you walk in and immediately know it’s going to be a good night.

We also love being part of moments like this before the wedding day. It gives everyone a chance to get comfortable with us, feel a bit more natural in front of the camera, and just build that connection early on. By the time the wedding comes around, it doesn’t feel like you’ve hired vendors; it feels like you have people there who already know you.

Photographing Lucia and Alex again felt a lot less like work and a lot more like catching up with old friends.

I first met them for their engagement session, then photographed their wedding. Now we’re here, celebrating the next chapter as they get ready to welcome their baby. Watching our couples’ lives grow and change like this is honestly one of the best parts of what we do.

We kept this maternity session very relaxed. Lots of chatting, laughing, and a bit of gentle guidance here and there. My goal with maternity photos is always the same: keep things natural so the photos feel like you.

And Lucia and Alex made that very easy.

Also, a little reminder: yes, I photograph maternity sessions and lifestyle newborn sessions, too. It’s always such a joy to document these quieter, meaningful seasons in between the big celebrations.

An honest moment.

Social media can really mess with your brain. You scroll long enough, and suddenly it feels like you’re always one trend behind, one idea short, one step away from not being “current” enough.

Constant battles in your head: Is this what couples want now?
Is this where wedding photography is heading?
Or is this just another trend passing through?

It’s easy to lose yourself in comparison.

The truth is, growth matters. Evolving matters. But losing your voice does not.

I love wide, horizontal, theatrical frames. The kind of images that show scale, architecture, and atmosphere. The kind you don’t see trending on Instagram or Pinterest. And honestly, that’s okay. That’s the work that feels like me, so I’ll keep creating it and sharing it.

These portraits of Anastasia & Edgar happened in just 20 minutes. We focused on what matters most to us and to our couples:
Classic photos for parents and grandparents.
Fashion-inspired moments for the couple.
And wide, artistic frames that feed the soul.

Part two from Emma & Craig’s wedding at The Broadview Hotel.

Today feels like a good moment to share a bit of the how behind these images, because this part matters just as much as the final photos and films.

When couples tell us they want candid, documentary coverage but also love editorial, design-driven images, what they really need is a team that knows when to step in and when to disappear.

For this wedding, the morning spaces were tight, dark and busy. Instead of fighting the environment, we planned around it.

Before the wedding we:
– reviewed the floor plans and lighting at the hotel
– created a timeline that allowed breathing room for portraits
– planned specific moments where we could gently guide without interrupting the day

On the wedding day we:
– gave clear, simple direction when it mattered (first looks, portraits, family photos)
– stepped back during emotional moments so nothing felt staged
– collaborated closely as photo + video, so nothing had to be repeated

This balance is what lets a day feel natural while still creating images that feel intentional and polished.

Beautiful photos rarely happen by accident. They happen when trust, planning and experience meet in the middle.

More from this day coming soon.

One of the questions we get all the time: Do we really need a second photographer?

The honest answer is that it depends on what you want your wedding photos to feel like and how relaxed you want your timeline to be. Today’s post shows exactly what we capture when we work as a team.

A second photographer is especially helpful when:

• You are getting ready in separate locations and do not want one of you to start earlier just for photos
• You are planning many family group photos (more than about 10)
• You want the first look or aisle moment captured from multiple angles, including the back of the dress and wide ceremony views
• You love candid moments and want lots of coverage of guests, reactions, hugs, and little in-between moments
• You want a relaxed timeline with breathing room instead of rushing from one thing to the next
• You want formal photos to move faster so you can get back to your celebration
• You are hosting a large wedding (200+ guests). In this case, we strongly recommend it.

A second photographer is not about more photos for the sake of it. It is about more perspective, more coverage, and a smoother experience on the day.

Every wedding is different, and we always talk this through together. Based on your plans, venue, and timeline, we will guide you and recommend what makes the most sense for your day.

Swipe to see the same moments captured from two viewpoints.

Reana and Naeldo kept things intentional from start to finish. A meaningful ceremony at Toronto City Hall, followed by a beautifully paced reception at Pearle Hotel & Spa.

We photograph many weddings at Pearle, and every time it reinforces how important it is to understand the space. What is the best time for sunset photos and the babypink sky? Which locations stay calm during cocktail hour? Where to hide from the wind or heat? How do I build a timeline that fits how this venue operates?

That experience is exactly why we created our Pearle Hotel Wedding Guide. It’s practical, venue-specific, and designed to help couples get the most out of their day without overthinking it.

If you’re planning a wedding at Pearle, this guide is for you.

Some wedding days carry more than just celebration; they carry history. Megan and Andrew’s Toronto Golf Club wedding was deeply rooted in family tradition, shaped by years of memories on the grounds where Andrew’s grandfather first became a member, and where generations have gathered ever since.

Their vision was simple and classic, with a modern, cinematic edge, allowing the day to feel both timeless and personal.

And honestly… I have 200 more images from this wedding that I’m obsessed with, but they won’t all fit into one Instagram post. If you want to see the full story, head to our website and check it out in the Portfolio section.

Also… our updated website is looking really dope. Go take a peek.

Some weddings don’t rush you. They pull you in slowly, moment by moment, and before you know it, the day has passed in the best possible way. Venessa and Ryon’s wedding was exactly that. From the quiet, nervous excitement of the morning to the warmth of their candlelit last dance, everything felt heartfelt and real. Being around the two of them, you could feel how grounded, calm, and deeply in love they are.

And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any better, Burlington gave us its signature sunset. That pink and baby-blue sky over the lake wrapped Venessa and Ryon in the dreamiest light. Calm, romantic, and effortlessly beautiful, it reminded me once again why photographing local weddings here feels so special every single time.
